Experienced Tutor

Despite having started tutoring formally in April 2017, Ye-Sheen has taught 600+ hours and worked with 100+ students on a one-to-one basis. She specialises in 11+ tuition in English, Maths and interview preparation for competitive day and boarding schools. Having attended a grammar school herself, she has experience of learning in an highly academic environment and the pressures that come along with that.

Ye-Sheen has tutored students who have successfully gained entrance to competitive schools, such as Godolphin & Latymer, Francis Holland, Emanuel, King’s College School Wimbledon and Whitgift; entrance to these school have included 7+ , 8+, 10+ and 11+. However, she also very much enjoys helping older students prepare for their GCSE examinations in Latin, History and English Literature, offering detailed feedback on essays.

Each individual’s needs are taken into account when planning and delivering lessons. Ye-Sheen has been able to build her experience through the variety of students that she has taught, having taught students with dyslexia and dyspraxia. She particularly enjoys getting to know her students on a personal level, which enables her to establish and maintain trust with them thus forming a solid foundation for effective learning. A good relationship with the student also allows her to understand their own learning styles and adapt her teaching style.

Ye-Sheen is currently a final year Classics student at UCL graduating in June 2019. She is involved in university life and is currently the Commercial Awareness Officer for the UCL Law for All Society and the Vice-President and Treasurer for the UCL Christian Union.
