One to One

One to One

One to One

It is our belief that with one-to-one tuition, there is a unique opportunity for the vastly varied ‘blocks to learning’ that a child or young person might be experiencing to be explored and worked through in a way that is most suited to them, and in much more detail than is often possible in a classroom setting.

The timing and structure of each lesson is determined almost exclusively by the needs of the child, rather than by any particular institutional or course requirements. Flexibility to shape the lessons towards particular aims and goals – like exams or assessment processes that the child is currently working towards, is therefore also possible.

The child or young person is free to ask as many questions as they want or work on problems that perhaps they would be too embarrassed to ask in front of other students and they are free to work at their own pace. The child or young person has the teacher’s undivided attention and so there is also potential to get through far greater amounts of work than would otherwise be possible in a classroom setting, and to far more depth as well.

We can organise our one to one lessons in the following formats :

Study Based Support – Lessons are conducted at our premises in Fulham. Very useful if your child finds it difficult concentrating at home.

Home Based Support – Lessons are conducted at your home. Preferred by some parents as they can cast a watchful eye on their child’s progress.

Online Based Support – Lessons are conducted online by our experienced tutors through Microsoft teams. (We require a minimum of 35mb/s internet connection with no streaming going on in any other rooms.)

Mixed Support – A mix of all the above, however we do suggest trying to stick to one option most of the time to help with logistics and continuity.

What we offer Icon Green Back

What we offer

  • SpLD tutoring – If your child has learning difficulties, we have a number of specialist tutors who can support them through their studies. The Fulham Study started out with only specialist tutors over 10 years ago and has been built on a foundation of Support and nurture.
  • Exam Preparation – If your child is Changing schools at 7,11 or 13+ our experienced tutors are well versed in what is needed to attain entry into the top U.K. independent schools. We conduct interview practise and Mock exams as part of our preparation process.
  • Touch-typing – Having a touch-typing room allows us to provide one to one and group Touch-typing classes. Our students find the Touch-typing classes fun and liberating, especially if struggling with their Handwriting.
  • Handwriting – We have a group of tutors who specialise in handwriting support. With more and more schools focusing less and less on their students handwriting, a child can be left with a bad grip and inadequate command of the medium they are writing on.
